Robin D’Hondt managed to keep the 1/8th IC European Title within the MLC team, bringing home a deserved victory at the end of an exciting 45 minutes long final. After starting from second behind reigning World Champion Simon Kurzbuch, Robin seemed to be the only driver able to keep up with the Swiss’ impressive pace and managed to limit his gap, stamping a good rhythm on his race without ever looking behind at the positions after him. In the moment when Simon’s Shepherd stopped on the Swedish tarmac, apparently due to a broken glow plug, Robin’s Capricorn was in the right place to take the lead. Since then, the Belgian MLC factory driver had nothing to do but cruise towards the end of the race keeping an eye to the three-car train that was battling for 2nd one lap behind him, formed by Gruber, Ielasi and Kurzbuch. While Robin crosses the finish line for the 98th and last time, behind him it will be Toni Gruber and Daniele Ielasi who will complete the podium. Happy days for us at Pepe Group, then, with the title retained within the MLC team and both of our brands on the podium thanks to Daniele Ielasi’s third place with Energy Fuel!
